Welcome to the Behcet's Disease Books and Resources web site. It has been created by Joanne Zeis, Behcet's patient and author of You Are Not Alone: 15  People with Behcet'sBasic Information on Behcet's DiseaseBehcet's Disease: Medical Research Studies,
and the recently released Essential Guide to Behcet's Disease. This site was last updated on 11/9/02.

If you're new to Behcet's disease (BD), please take a look at Behcet's Basics. This section provides a general overview of the symptoms of Behcet's, as well as information on diagnostic criteria, and a description of the challenges of living with BD on a daily basis. Behcet's Basics is a shorter edited version of the 24-page Basic Information on Behcet's Disease booklet offered through the Order link on the left. Other books and resources are also available through the same Order Form page.

The books and resources offered here are designed to meet the needs of anyone with Behcet's connections -- from patients, their family members and friends, to health care professionals. A portion of the proceeds from sales at this site goes to support Behcet's informational groups in the U.S. and abroad; proceeds are also tithed to a local church. Some products are offered at a reduced rate to Behcet's patients facing financial difficulties due to their illness. (Please send private email to accounts@behcetsdisease.com for more information.)

As a 20-year veteran of Behcet's disease, I understand the frustrations and pain of living with this illness. Trying to find appropriate  treatment is hard enough. Finding well-written, comprehensive information about Behcet's disease shouldn't be one of your frustrations.
      Be well,
